Welcome to Santa Monica International School (SMIS).
I started this school in a small rented room in 2002 with the goal to educate my daughters since I wanted to provide the best for my children. I have the same desire for the children living in Okinawa and I strive to provide these children the best education available. This is my purpose and the reason SMIS has grown and continues to grow to this day. Also, I feel that our students need to prepare and make a better world. To do this, I want to ensure that my school teaches manners, etiquette and how to be better world class citizens.
